I’m a city person, interested in my community, youth and capacity building engaging citizens to creation and daily life. I like it down town where there is the hustle and bustle, and the city walk is busy with pedestrians going up and down. As early as six am in the morning indigents are ready for a new day the inhabitants may be jogging, exercising or hurrying to catch the first transport vehicles doing the shuttle from one end of the town to the other. The birds are flying from end to end in search for daily fulfillment; they all gathered late in the evening in their nests up the trees and now they all are tweeting and rushing out to fend for themselves, possible in the sparsely populated cities. The evening is equally busy due to the haste to get back and cater for the home; at night the street lights are shining and the people sit by the sidewalks watching the moon and the stars on the sky above. The fleet of cars in the traffic as the traffic police conduct their movements at the cross roads and the neon lights brightly sparkling even those that are idle go out there to forget all their troubles, forget all their cares, liking the city so go down town. Go window shopping, see lots of people, see lots of shops, and see lots of traffic.

Quartre Etages is a popular stop in Bonaberi Douala. This is the economic capital and the largest city in the Littoral region in my country of origin. In most cities across the continent the civilians go by bus, by taxi, by bike or on foot to work, school, hospital, church, market and the like to do as required by the norms. In the Littoral region there is too much economic activity taking place; it is densely populated and the natives speak French as a first language. The country is bilingual speaking both French and English because of colonialism. In this region of the country there is a seaport and an airport so ships and planes come in and leave in this entry port.

Douala is the largest city in Cameroon, the capital of Cameroon’s Littoral region and the richest in the whole CEMAC region of six countries; with about 2.4 million residents. The capital and second largest city Yaounde follows with 2 million and more residents.
