This is team teaching, here two teachers are working side by side, both are in the room at the same time but taking turns in teaching the whole class, one teaches one supports, as lecturer and supervisor, as lecturer and observer, adapted teaching, multiple learning places. Effective co-teaching utilizes a variety of instructional strategies to support needs of all students, improves intensity and continuity of instruction offering opportunity for student participation improving possible outcome. There are some benefits to co-teaching like increased instructional options for all students, diversity of instructional styles, greater student engagement time, and greater student participation levels. The disadvantages of co-teaching are equally many, some simply dislike other teachers on the team, and some do not want to risk humiliation and discouragement at possible failures. Some fear they will be expected to do more work for the same salary, others are unwilling to share the spotlight or their pet ideas or to lose total control. In the Google classroom co-teaching as teacher/teachers with instructional technology (IT) is engaging and interesting when many strategies are applied to keep the mind active but not overwhelmed, I’m looking forward to my invitation to my class this new academic year and the income too.
Coming from a combination of two words co and teaching, co is a mutual co-existence, teaching is achievable after thorough understanding of the subject matter, a topic well explained, a theme completely assessed from understanding, broken down into different subtopics, units, modules best analyzed using several methods. Together with one another or with others we need to jointly collaborate in teaching, there is a difference between, chatting at home, chatting on the net in the chat room; even a chatter box is another thing all together therefore it is very meaningful to diversify teaching skills to attract the right attention and appeal to the right audience. Debates and discussions enlighten controversial topics especially when the participants are well informed on the subject so opinion polling on various notions can be better aligned and disseminated to all possible outlets, channels and enable teaching to cut across reaching all nooks and crannies all over the universe.
