Good health is not cheap; it comes from thorough learning and understanding of the subject health. We hear of healthy living, health watch, health clock, health is wealth but can you assimilate its implications. When it is health essentials, health etiquette we come out to be counted because we know from where we come; once you are healthy and kicking the body is sound, the mind is sound, the brain is sound and so on and so forth. Some diseases, illnesses and sicknesses are more common than others so scientists say after many years in the generational model they conclude that some peculiar health problems are passed on down the generations in the family lineage. Diabetes is one such health problem, and hypertension is another.

Diabetes is a disorder of the metabolism causing excessive thirst and the production of large amounts of urine; to be diabetic means you are having a condition relating to diabetes, a person suffering from diabetes has to be on control as stated by the medical staff. Diabetes insipidus is a rare form of diabetes caused by a deficiency of the pituitary hormone vasopressin which regulates kidney function. Diabetes mellitus is the commonest form of diabetes caused by a deficiency of the pancreatic hormone insulin, which result in a failure to metabolize sugars and starch.

Diabetes is a common hereditary disease associated with feeding eating too much of corn-flour which is a staple dish in our country. Fofo corn is a very tasty meal which is eaten with huckleberry a leafy vegetable plant like spinach. We must learn to eat all varieties of foodstuff in order to not suffer from complications as a result of eating too much of your staple dish; we will have to learn to savor the local cuisine.

Like hypertension diabetes has to be monitored and controlled taking medical advice on how to get better. Hypertension is high blood pressure, a condition in which the force of the blood against the artery walls is too high. Usually hypertension is defined as blood pressure above 140/90, and is considered severe if the pressure is above 180/120. High blood pressure often has no symptoms. Over time, if untreated, it can cause health conditions, such as heart disease and stroke. High blood pressure (hypertension) is a common condition in which the long-term force of the blood against your artery walls is high enough that it may eventually cause health problems, such as heart disease which might result to death. Eating a healthier diet with less salt, exercising regularly and taking medication can help lower blood pressure.
