Nature in the broadest sense is the physical world or universe; nature can refer to the phenomena of the physical world and also to life in general, life in general seen in the global pandemic, climate change and floods, wars, violence and sustainability. We must co-exist and fill the space that is ours letting other species to thrive without confusion or chaos. Nature can refer to the general realm of living things and in some cases to the processes associated with inanimate objects, the way that particular types of things exist and change of their own accord such as the weather and geology of the earth.

Natural diversity means all species and distinct populations of plants and animals within their native habitat exist and must stay productive. Naturally diversity speaks of the ability to mingle without confusion and chaos. As ecosystems evolve in nature they become more diverse, and this diversity creates more resources in a system. This is because diverse plants and species need different nutrients to thrive, and they each generate abundant resources that they can share.

In diversity we see variety, a practice or quality of including or involving people from a range of different social and ethnic backgrounds and of different genders, sexual orientations, etc. Diversity is about what makes of us unique and includes our backgrounds, personality, life experiences and beliefs, all of the things that make us who we are. It is a combination of our differences that shape our view of the world, our perspective and our approach.

Biodiversity boost ecosystem productivity where each species, no matter how small, all have an important role to play; for example a larger number of plant species means a greater variety of crops, greater species diversity ensures natural sustainability for all life forms. Nature portfolio is committed to promoting practices that support diversity and inclusion in science communication and publishing
